2021; Our sport and livelihood

At Crazy Dog Kennels, we don't have a dog farm.  Ours is a kennel where each and every dog has a name, personality, a daily program and the best care, love and attention a dog could ever ask for.   Dogs are allowed to be dogs. That means they get to interact with other dogs; 24/7.  They are not housed inside a pretty chain link jail cell with a concrete floor.  Dogs like to dig holes, play with their food dishes and each other.   Chin link and concrete may look good to people, but one may get a different view if one thinks like a dog.

Our life revolves around the kennel, we have designed it that way and treat our duties with profession and respect.

Anyone who has visited the kennel can speak volumes..
We are proud of the work we do with dogs and it a program that works!  We ARE the dog whisperer. Whisper; time, whisper; patience.
We are able to take any dog and within a short time, will be able to give you a good idea of what's happened in his past and …. what that dog may need to re-gain trust and what it will take to let him shine.   We understand what is necessary to find unwanted dogs the right adoptive home

Dog racing is a very visible sport that is extremely costly for mushers to take part in...unlike other sports where one may get large endorsements, this is a sport where we pay to participate.

We pay, out of pocket expenses in the  thousands of dollars for the very best in veterinary care and feed.  We don't expect others to pay for it but sponsors and fans are important parts of our team.
Races don't pay much in the way of prize money.  Thus, those who like to participate in our endeavors vicariously, are welcomed when they make even the smallest contribution.  Training, racing and working sled dogs is a fast disappearing way of life.  The Alaskan husky who was born to run would be shamed to become a couch breed.  These dogs are designed for running and moving long distances.  They are the fastest animal in the world at distances in excess of 50 miles.

They are not abused, neglected or harmed ever in any way shape or form. THEY ARE ATHLETES and because of the racing sport , these huskies have evolved as a breed and are far more capable than ever.

Alaskan Huskies are amazing animals! We love raising them, we enjoy helping with rescue when situations arise and we are called to help...sled dogs love attention like the common house dog, the only real difference is ...they love to run--it is in their blood to go. Each dog is an individual. As responsible mushers, it up to us to take good care of them as individuals and also as a team. We manage our kennel in a way so all needs are met and everyone thrives.

We are proud owners of a well run and respected kennel that is family owned and operated.  We work around the clock with dogs and family with aspirations of achieving more and more.  I love the Iditarod trail, it is beautiful and it's one amazing journey though time and villages with my very best friends ((these dogs truly are my very best of friends)) and they Love it.  Not everyone, nor every dog, can do 1000 miles

1000 miles is a race for athletes who have been well trained and cared for...
It's an opportunity for others to learn about our dogs and teamwork.  It is a lifestyle; it needs to be done with care and integrity.

We challenge folks who think that sled dogs have it bad; come spend time here, visit and take time ... you will come away with a different point of view

Happy Trails!
