Rainy is 14. Spayed female that has a few thousand mile races behind her. She is a friendly dog that needs a house dog home for her remaining years. She is still quite active and likes to get out and go. Most Alaskan Huskies live to 15 years or more.

This is Royal. She is a 6 year-old 50 lb. female. Very friendly, comes to call. Loves to be petted, can be a little clingy. She has an Iditarod behind her. She has lead, but is not truly a leader. She would make a great companion dog, but needs plenty of attention. Sled dogs are not good single dogs unless they have plenty of owner time. These dogs are used to being very social, thus are not good when left alone at the house all day.

ALL DOGS DESERVE A HOME WHERE THEY CAN BE THE BEST THEY CAN BE.

Journey is a 11 year old neutered male. He is lively! Journey acts and runs like a three year old. He comes to call and stays close. Like all of the dogs we have listed he easily leash walks. Journey, like most sled dogs will settle down in the house. And like other dogs raised and acclimated to a yard with multiple dogs, he likes company.

Willow is a 6 year-old intact female. She will be spayed before adoptiion. Willow is a very good running dog, but is not well-suited for cold weather. She would rather live in the house. She is very good as a single dog and is okay being alone in a kennel. Another very friendly dog that comes to call and will walk with you.

Not every dog is suited to be a sled dog.

Some would prefer to be a  companion, or a recreational runner; older dogs may like the couch.  At our kennel we deal with all sorts of sled dogs.  We take in dogs from shelters and other kennels --- who can't quite make thNOT EVERY SLED DOG IS SUITED TO BE A RACE DOG.e team.  We deal with dogs that are poorly socialized or just need that extra bit of care.  Some just have no home and no place to go....

Out of State and out of area adoptions are possible. Alaska Airlines offers an affordable “rescue rate” to where-ever they fly. Kennel costs and over-nighting costs may drive the price up somewhat. Some folks use their airline miles to travel and pick-up the dog themselves. Pricing for a dog traveling with a person is considerably less expensive.
